Finally, changes in BDNF levels in this study may be affected by a variety of other factors, including genetic background, psychophysiological status, nutrition and dietary supplements (Celik et al., 2016; Zhang et al., 2015), which warrants further investigation. In accordance with previous results, we also found that global cognitive deficits were observed in SCZ patients (MacKenzie et al., 2018).
